Welcome.
This is a space for contemplative studies of artistic endeavor in the digital age, by artist and writer Ludi Leiva. Here, I’ll share updates on studio practice, new work, and upcoming exhibitions. Subscribers also get exclusive early access to studio sales and releases.
This (monthly) newsletter serves as a framework and container for ongoing dialogue and reflection about art-making, spirituality, and creative vulnerability. It serves as a continuation of the artistic writing practice I started in my last newsletter, field notes on flourishing.
Studio Notes will continue to be a home for slow, thoughtful reflections on what it means to make art in this digital age. This is a space for process, experimentation, presence, and praxis, just as my studio aims to be, with real-time notes from the inner and outer realms of my life and practice.
You can expect:
– Reflections on making art slowly, intuitively, and sustainably
– Sketchbook excerpts and glimpses into process
– Resources for gentle productivity and creative care
– Interviews and studio visits with artists
– Early access to new work and studio sales
– Occasional prompts for your own creative reflection and integration
In seeking more meaningful connections with my community, I’ve created this space as a direct channel for sharing intimate dispatches — glimpses into my process, completed works, and works in progress.
Follow along
My newsletters are free, but if you’d like to support this work more directly, paid subscriptions are available (or you can buy me a coffee anytime here!).
Paid subscribers get behind-the-scenes access: monthly studio updates with new work, process notes, and artists inspiring me, plus an optional, quarterly 30-minute virtual studio visit with me, to look at work together, discuss practice, or just connect. This paid subscription is optional; it’s a form of modern-day patronage for those who feel called to support and connect with me and my practice more directly. But these monthly letters will always remain free and accessible to all. Thank you in advance for your support.
You’re warmly invited to follow along and be part of my practice in whichever way feels best to you. So, welcome in ᵕ̈ Stay as long as you’d like, and unsubscribe anytime — no hard feelings.
About Me
I'm Ludi — a Canadian-American visual artist working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, currently based in Stockholm and primarily working between here and London, UK. In previous lives, I’ve worked as a journalist, editor, and commercial illustrator (though I still do take on illustration work!).
